It's getting hot in here!
So it was like 95 in Tulsa the past couple of days, no joke. Is it summer already??? I can't believe that my 31 birthday is next week...and the fact it is nearly May is just shocking!
April has proven to be a difficult month at work and I've been trying to find at least one thing to be thankful for everyday. Yesterday, I got to go to work with the sunroof down and enjoy the beautiful morning. I got to have lunch with my husband. I came home and Addie wanted to take a nap, so her and I took an hour nap. Then, Addie and I walked the dogs in the neighborhood while Greg mowed. Watching Addie toddle around made my heart happy! I know all parents think their children are amazing and that is because children are! I never take for granted the wonderful gift God has given Greg and I. I'm thankful everyday that He chose us to be her parents and I try to show her and tell her how much we love her and want her everyday.

I've spent the past two hours typing a home study (I've only gotten one section done) and watching 30 Rock. I had 4 on my DVR and I really, really love this show! It's one of the few shows that makes me laugh out loud! Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) did a Princess Leia impression to get out of jury duty and I snorted!
Addie went down for an extremely late nap and I'm hoping that she just stays asleep. I think she's going through some changes and we are trying to figure it out together! She's pretty much dropped down to one nap a day but is so cranky in the evening. She's sleeping for 11 hours at night but we can't get the daytime down to perfection in the past few weeks. Oh well, it will work itself out!
In the past week or so she's really started talking more and has a vocab of at least 15 words. She's like a little birdy and will repeat words you ask her to. Obviously my favorite is when she says "mama". She says it so sweetly and quietly. I also love her version of "I love you" which is more like "lowlou".
We went over to Greg's grandmother's home last night for her 75th birthday! She brought out the toys that have been around for generations of grandchildren and Addie LOVED playing with the Barbies and Barbies convertible! At one point she had two Ken dolls and Barbie was driving. Such a sophisticated woman! She then threw both Kens and Barbie out and tried to get into the car herself. I can't believe that it's already Barbie time. *Sigh*
Back to work I go!

Noooooooooooooooo!
Thursday, March 19, 2009
Addie has learned how to say "noooooooooo"! She really emphasizes the "o" on it.
Me: Addie, can I have a kiss?
Her: Noooooooooo.
But she comes and kisses me anyway!
Me: Addison, want to take a bath?
Her: NOOOOooooo.
Then she shakes her head yes and runs to the bathroom.
She is starting to put words together more and can locate body parts, make animal noises and is very strong willed! She is so funny and so ACTIVE. She has discovered that she loves to be outside and likes to chase the dogs and give them their toys. I feel for her grandma's who are the ones that spend most of the time outside with her!
She is growing so fast and getting so tall. We still haven't cut her hair yet and it's getting really long!
Well, ladybug is supposed to be sleeping but is fussing so I had better go check on her.
I promise to try and be better about updating!

Winter Fun
Tuesday, January 27, 2009
We were lucky enough to have the day off from work due to the bad weather. Being the good employee I am, I actually did some work and then spent the rest of the day napping with Addie and playing outside!
Here are a few photos from our adventures outside.

Ice storm 2009
Monday, January 26, 2009
Tulsa is in the grips of another lovely ice storm. I swear, if we have to go to work tomorrow, I'm going to be so mad!
We had so much fun at Dave and Buster's on Saturday, until my wallet went missing. I had my coach wristlet and I must have set it down. By the time I realized it, it was gone. I feel pretty confident that we called all of our creditors/credit union and got the accounts changed. I had a few gift cards in there and my liscense. I was able to get a new liscense today...thank goodness! And, it only took me 30 minutes to do so. It's just so violating to know someone had your info.
I just spent a good 20-30 minutes sitting on the couch with Addie laying on me while I read to her and then watched Max and Emma (I think that's the shows name). It was so sweet and perfect. She's not a real cuddler so I relish the moments she gives me.
Hopefully all my peeps in Tulsa keeps power and are all sunggly and safe at home! Of course, Greg is having to work late. Grrr..while his co-worker got sent home early..grr...but that's another story!

Addie getting some loving advice from her great-grandmother
For me?
I'm not sure about this animatronic cat mom! The next picture I have she's crying but I didn't have the heart to upload it!
Eating the carrot that was for the horses but they wouldn't come to the fence.
All tucked out after a long Christmas Day!

Awww...it's Friday....
I'm so excited! On March 9, I'll be attending the New Kids Concert in Tulsa! A friend had a presale code and got floor seats for a us and the total cost was like $75 a ticket. Not bad! I'm sure it won't beat the sweet seats we had in KC but it will be fun nonetheless!
Addie is 14 months old already. Which is really unbelievable to me. She is starting to "talk" more but only says a few words and only usually when prompted. I'm really trying to work with her on that but I think she's still well within the norm. She's also coming into her own personality and is very playful. She loves to be chased and "hide", which consists of her not being able to see us.
She has a mouthful of teeth (including her molars) and gets upset when her food is not the same size as Greg's and mine. I think she is really enjoying having her grandmother's keep her during the day and we've all kinda adjusted to my working full-time. Don't get me wrong, I still hate it but it's at least tolerable now.
I need to upload pictures from my camera but I don't feel like getting off the couch to do so!!
Hope everyone has a very happy weekend! I can't wait for Dave and Busters tomorrow with T&J!

Uhh. What a day.

We got word that the dog had to be euthinized. Greg is taking it really hard. Poor guy. He called the lady that waited with him last night and she was sad also. She told Greg that she saw the accident and that the SUV that hit the dog stopped behind another car and went around it even though they knew that traffic was stopped.
What a prick!
Speaking of pricks, I was informed today (by a 19 year old male) that it's the "woman's job" to get up in the middle of the night to take care of the baby. He also informed me, because I was obviously unaware, that men do the most work b/c they "make" the baby. He also made some comment about doing the most work also b/c he was "on top" and I lost it. Poor kid didn't know what was coming to him when he said that to me!!!!!! I'm a freaking pit bull now and won't put up with it. I informed him otherwise and he didn't like hearing it.
On a happier note, Addie is learning her animal sounds and occasionally will go around snorting like a pig or meowing. It's so funny and sweet. She loves to be chased and to "hide". Hiding consists of moving her head so that she can't see you! She also loves to read and will sit down with a book and flip the pages and ask us to read to her. She's getting so big and has like 15 teeth! I can't even count all of them b/c she's gotten so many so fast. Two of her best girl friends are turning one soon and we are so excitied! We can't wait to party it up with Emma and Kamryn!!

Say a doggie prayer tonight...
Monday, January 5, 2009
Oh, what a sad night. My mom, Addie and I came home from Target around 9:15 pm and when we got about a 1/2 mile from the home I saw a dog running northbound on Aspen (major road in BA) - the opposite direction we were travelling. I slowed down and she ran behind me. I saw two cars behind me stop and then headlights and it looked like the doggie got hit. In a split second we had to make a decision. Mom told me to go on, go home, drop Addie off and she would go back and make sure that the doggie was gone or being taken care of.
I get home and Greg is still not home from work. Strange b/c he was supposed to be home by now. I tried calling his cell phone and he wasn't answering. My mom goes, maybe Greg was behind us and stopped to help. So mom stuck around for about 20 minutes and Greg finally called.
Greg indeed stopped. He saw a black SUV hit the dog, pause and drive off. What kind of person does that? The poor doggie was left in the street, in pain, and suffering. Another lady stopped her car in the lane the dog was in so she (I'm just calling her she) wouldn't be hit again. The lady that stopped called the police b/c the dog was in the roadway (Aspen - Southbound). Greg got a blanket out of the car, wrapped the dog up (Collie/Shepard mix) and sat with her while she winced in pain. The cop couldn't believe the dog let Greg do that. Greg sat with this poor animal for nearly 20 minutes waiting for animal control to come. He said that he was able to pet her and hold her and she never growled or winced at him.
When animal control came, Greg gave him our numbers and asked if they would call tomorrow. The lady also waited and her and Greg exchanged numbers. Thank goodness another person stopped to be with Greg. Greg said that the animal control person couldn't get near the dog and she had to be pulled and basically thrown in the back of the truck. SO SAD.
In hindsight Greg wishes now we would have just taken her to an emergency vet but hopefully we will hear something. We decided that we'll do whatever we can financially to help her and will adopt her if needed. Hopefully she's "salvagable" like the cop said.
Greg is just distraught and so sad. He is such a good man. I'm lucky to have a sweet, caring person. I know people think dogs are just dogs but we both have a sweet spot in our hearts for animals.
I'll post what we find out....fingers crossed that it's good news.
